Delhi, India

March 25, 2017

To be completely honest, this trip couldn't have come at a better time for us.  The week leading up to this trip was, hands down, the hardest week of our lives. It took a huge toll on us emotionally, so to be able to embark on this adventure together truly came as a breath of fresh air to us. Our flight took about 17 hours so you can only imagine how excited we were to finally reach our destination and our first stop in our Northern India adventure... Delhi.

Desperately in need of a shower and a bed, we immediately took a cab from the airport to our AirBnb, a beautiful lake view room in the lively South Delhi village of Hauz Khas. The next day we started it off by going for a walk around our neighborhood's lake and streets... that's when we stumbled upon the amazing Hauz Khas ruins. After hours of walking and exploring we decided to stop by the Smoke House Deli for one of the most delicious lunch of my life (Make sure to order the Pink Curry Sauce Pasta w/ Seasonal Vegetables AND the Peri Peri Rubbed Smoked Chicken... they are both to die for!).  Later on that day, an hour or so before sunset, we took a tuk tuk to the center of Delhi to pay the India Gate a visit.  From there we walked around a while before heading back to our home base. After all, we had an early morning train to take to Vrindavan.

(Disclaimer: I misplaced my camera's charger the first couple days of our trip so I had to use my phone's camera during most of our time in Delhi...which explains the blurry photos. Sorry!)

 See you again soon Delhi!
